Smoking Law in Croatia
In Croatia, smoking is heavily regulated by the government in an effort to reduce the negative health effects associated with tobacco use.
The main law regulating smoking in Croatia is the Act on Restricting the Use of Tobacco Products, which was introduced in 2008. Under this law, smoking is prohibited in all indoor public spaces, including restaurants, cafes, bars, and nightclubs.
There are no designated smoking areas in these establishments, and smoking is only allowed in outdoor spaces that are at least 10 meters away from the entrance.
Individuals caught smoking in prohibited areas can be fined up to 2,000 kuna (approximately 270 EUR), while businesses that allow smoking can be fined up to 15,000 kuna (approximately 2,000 EUR). Additionally, individuals who sell tobacco products to minors can be fined up to 30,000 kuna (approximately 4,000 EUR).
