Smoking areas in Finland’s airports

Finland has a number of airports that cater to domestic and international travelers. The country is known for its efficient and modern airport facilities.

All of these airports are well-equipped with modern facilities to serve the needs of travelers, including restaurants, shops, and other amenities. Additionally, they all have designated smoking areas in compliance with Finland’s smoking laws.

On this website you can find all smoking areas in airports, including designated smoking areas and available facilities. We understand the frustration of going through security only to find that there are no smoking areas anywhere and in some cases e-cigarettes may not be allowed.

Finland’s Smoking Law

Finland’s Smoking Act was amended in 2016 to prohibit smoking in all indoor public spaces, including airports. This means that smoking is not allowed anywhere inside airport buildings, including restaurants, bars, and other designated areas. The law also applies to outdoor areas such as terraces and parking areas that are within the airport’s boundaries.

The law has been designed to protect the health of non-smokers from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke, and to create a smoke-free environment for everyone. Fines are imposed on those who violate the law, and they can be quite significant.

Smoking cessation programs and resources are widely available in Finland, and the country has one of the lowest smoking rates in Europe. The government has implemented various policies to discourage smoking, including high taxes on tobacco products, smoke-free public spaces, and public education campaigns.
