Austria’s Smoking Law
The smoking laws in Austria ban smoking in all enclosed public spaces, including bars, restaurants, and workplaces. This ban also extends to outdoor areas where people are likely to congregate, such as playgrounds and sports facilities. However, there are some exceptions to this ban.
For example, smoking is allowed in dedicated smoking rooms that meet certain ventilation standards, and some bars and restaurants have designated outdoor smoking areas.
In addition to the ban on smoking in public spaces, there are also restrictions on advertising and promotion of tobacco products. Individuals who are caught smoking in public places can face fines of up to 1,000 euros, while establishments that allow smoking can be fined up to 10,000 euros.
Overall, the smoking laws in Austria are quite strict and are enforced rigorously.
